Painted Poem #2/21

Writer: prarthoprartho

Sugar Spoon

Venus on the Half Shell,

the sugar spoon rises

from a sea of blinding light,

finds herself alone,

unable to remember

where she came from

or who brought her

to this shimmering world.

Star-struck urchin,

adrift in your porcelain canoe,

you may be a stranger

in this strange land,

but you are not alone.

There are many of us here—

startled and agog

by the sweetness

we find each day

in our bowls.
